Nokia N8 review
The interface for the web browser on the Nokia N8 hasn't really changed either — we're STILL forced to go through a bagillion screen presses to just reload the page. Nokia's got this little trick of opening up the screen to show as much of the web page as possible, and then you hit a double-ended arrow to see the options.
- Share my laptop's internet with my smartphone [Nokia N8] - Ars Technica OpenForum.
- Turn the phone on and off - Nokia N8;
- Use a mobile data connection.

From there, you have to hit the menu icon, and get a new grid of other icons to mess about with. Only here can you reload, which is a little convoluted when some phones have it as a button alongside the URL or from the menu. But one nice touch: you can automatically subscribe to an RSS feed from this icon pane, and that feed will be available as a home screen widget.

If you dn't make sure it is turned off, the device can keep trying to switch to "Data" when you try and use "WiFi". Then you may wish to try a "Hard Reset" of the device. NOTE: Doing this will clear 'all' the data on your phone, so it is suggested you not choose this option unless you have to, or aren't worried about losing anything on the device. Be sure you back up any data you want to keep, to a computer or cloud account, before doing the reset. To "Hard Reset" the phone Make sure that the phone is actually powered off.
Press the "Power" and the "Volume Up" buttons, together, until you see the start-up logo on the screen. Once you can see the logo, release the buttons and allow the device to enter the "System Recovery Mode".
On the following screen, repeatedly press the "Volume Down" button until the "Yes - delete all user data" option is what is selected. Then press the "Power" button to hard reset the phone.
